NIX Solutions: X TV App Debuts – Video Streaming on Your TV

In March, Elon Musk confirmed that X (formerly Twitter) was working on an X TV app for watching videos from the platform on a TV. The beta version of X TV is now available in select app stores.

The X TV app is currently accessible on Google Play Store, Amazon App Store, and LG Store. However, it’s not yet available in the Apple App Store — Apple TV users may have to wait a while. We’ll keep you updated on its availability for Apple devices.

The app’s description on the Google Play Store says: “App X is a robust global digital city square for everyone on your TV! Discover a new way to experience the world of X as we bring you unique and exciting content right in your living room.”

Installing X TV allows you to watch all videos from the platform, including live broadcasts, on your TV. The service is free, but you need to log in to your account. The X TV interface seems very similar to YouTube. The 12+ rated app on Play Store already has more than 5000 downloads. Before the app launched, X users had to stream videos from iOS or Android to the big screen.

New Features for iOS Users

While X TV is not currently available in the Apple App Store, iOS users have access to a unique feature: unlimited message editing in direct messages (DMs). Mike Anderson, the chief engineer of the social network, shared details about this feature.

“DM editing is now available on iOS! Download the latest app to access this feature. Other platforms coming soon.”

According to Anderson, users won’t be able to edit encrypted messages or images — something X is still working on. Additionally, it is not possible “for now” to view previous versions of edited messages, but they are stored by the platform.

Most platforms and messengers limit the time after posting to avoid post facto editing. X does not impose such restrictions. So, in theory, you can always save your editing attempts for later use if needed, notes NIX Solutions. There is no deadline for editing, but users are limited to five attempts.

As X continues to evolve and introduce new features, we’ll keep you informed about the latest developments and updates to enhance your experience on the platform.
