Enhanced Video Quality and Controls

Telegram’s new video quality selection system automatically adapts to each user’s internet speed. With a slow connection, the app will select a compressed video version, while a fast connection enables the highest quality. Users can also manually select the video quality (low, medium, or high), allowing flexibility according to preference. Channel owners now have the option to publish videos in higher quality, saved in multiple compression options to ensure accessibility for users on various connections. For iOS users, transitioning to Picture-in-Picture mode is now as simple as swiping up on a video.

The update also introduces new gestures for controlling playback speed. Users can increase video speed to 1.5x by holding their finger on the right side of the screen and further speed it up to 2.5x by swiping. Upon releasing the screen, the video reverts to normal speed.

Expanded Editing, Hashtags, and Bot Monetization

The message editing process now allows users to add photos, videos, or files to a sent message without deleting it. Users can also replace an attached file with another, and the menu will show the time of the last edit. Group and channel owners have new hashtag capabilities with the format #hashtag@username, which, when clicked, displays only content from the specified chat, making it easier to navigate within individual chats and channels.

Telegram has further extended support for bot creators and mini-app developers. Now, creators can earn 50% of revenue from official advertising displayed within their bots and channels. NIX Solutions adds that the limit on free messages sent by bots has increased to 30 per second, with an option to extend to 1000 messages per second for an added fee.

Improved Reaction Tracking and More

Telegram users can now hold the reaction counter to see the exact number of reactions or Telegram Stars left on a message, enhancing engagement visibility. These new features, designed to enrich user experience, are part of Telegram’s ongoing improvements, and we’ll keep you updated as they evolve further.
