NIX Solutions: ChatGPT Outage Affects Global Users

ChatGPT has stopped working for many users worldwide. Multiple reports on social media, as well as our own testing, confirm that the chatbot is loading but not responding to requests. Many users are also encountering an “internal server error” message.

The outage appears to have started around 9:30 PM. This is when messages began appearing on Down Detector. At 10:00 PM, OpenAI posted an update to its service status page, acknowledging that ChatGPT, its API, and the text-based video generator Sora are “currently experiencing high error rates.” The update, posted at 10:18 PM Moscow time, explained that the issue was “caused by an upstream provider” and that OpenAI is monitoring the situation closely.

At 11:06 PM, OpenAI provided another update, stating that the team is “continuing to work on a fix.” However, there is no word yet on when the services will be fully operational again. We’ll keep you updated as more integrations become available.

History of Recent ChatGPT Outages

ChatGPT has faced several outages in the past few months, reminds NIX Solutions. Just days after OpenAI released Sora to paid ChatGPT subscribers earlier this month, both the video creation tool and ChatGPT were down for several hours. A similar situation occurred in June, when a widespread outage affected ChatGPT’s services. Users are waiting for an official resolution to the current downtime.
