NIXSolutions: Apple Expands Its Ad Network

Apple is growing its internal ad network, now selling its own ad inventory within Apple News. This move includes the introduction of new ad units designed to maximize revenue for both Apple and its publishing partners.

New Sponsorships and Ad Formats

Starting next year, Apple will offer premium editorial sponsorships tied to significant events like the Met Gala, the US Open, and more. These sponsorships are part of a broader initiative to provide diverse ad options. Apple News will feature banner and video ad placements across 17 formats, including carousel ads showcasing multiple products.

Publishers stand to benefit significantly, receiving 70% of revenue from ads sold directly by Apple. This revenue share is expected to surpass that of third-party partners, such as Taboola.

Partnerships and Future Prospects

Although Apple is expanding its direct advertising sales, its collaboration with Taboola remains intact. Apple plans to continue offering unsold ad inventory through Taboola and may introduce new partnerships in the future.

While Apple already sells ads in the App Store, its advertising reach has been relatively limited in other areas, adds NIXSolutions. There has been speculation about potential advertising on Apple TV, but no developments have been confirmed yet. We’ll keep you updated as more integrations become available.
