Copilot has returned to Windows 11 PCs after Microsoft unintentionally removed it from some systems. The company recently updated its support page, confirming that affected devices are “being restored to their original state.” This marks the end of what some may have seen as a short-lived break from Microsoft’s AI assistant.
Earlier this week, Microsoft acknowledged a bug that resulted in Copilot disappearing from the taskbar for certain Windows 11 users. According to the company’s post, this issue occurred following the installation of a service pack that began rolling out on March 11. While the developers worked to resolve the problem, users who wanted to continue using Copilot were advised to manually reinstall it via the Microsoft Store and pin a shortcut to the taskbar for easy access.
Manual Reinstallation and Recent Updates
During the period when the bug affected users, manual reinstallation was the only way to regain access to Copilot. However, Microsoft has since deployed a fix, automatically restoring the AI assistant to its original position on affected systems.
