Google has officially launched the NotebookLM mobile app, now available for both Android and iOS users. This long-awaited update brings the flexibility to work with your information on the move—whether you’re creating summaries or listening to audio versions of your content. Best of all, the app works offline, allowing you to stay productive even without an internet connection.
The mobile version retains all the core features of the desktop tool. You can still upload documents, generate summaries, and take advantage of the automatic creation of short notes. One of the standout features is the ability to produce audio summaries in a podcast-like format. These can be downloaded and played offline, offering a convenient way to review materials like work files or articles while commuting or multitasking. As noted by The Verge, this adds a layer of accessibility and convenience that many users will appreciate.
Easier Sharing and Broader Access
NotebookLM is also expanding how users interact with content from different sources. Whether you’re browsing a website, reading a PDF, looking at images, or watching a YouTube video, sharing content with NotebookLM is straightforward. From any app on your device, simply tap the Share icon and choose NotebookLM as the destination. This streamlined process makes it easier than ever to capture and organize useful information in one place.
The mobile app’s release follows a month after its initial announcement, adds NIX Solutions. According to Biao Wang, a product manager at Google Labs, the mobile version has been “one of the most frequent requests” from users. Its arrival is timely, coinciding with the upcoming Google I/O conference, which begins on May 21. As artificial intelligence is expected to be a key topic at the event, this launch reflects Google’s continued push to integrate AI into everyday tools.
The rollout of the app is just the beginning. We’ll keep you updated as more features and integrations become available, ensuring you can make the most of NotebookLM wherever you are.
